This position works from 2 pm until 10 pm.  Candidates must have experience supervising teams and working in a print production environment.


Directs all aspects of the Labeling Inkjet Department.  Acts as a liaison between production and customer service.  Responsible for the overall production and efficiency of the shift.

Quality Control 

  • Holds quality control meetings throughout the work year to keep employees informed of quality issues and any new procedures
  • Ensures that all samples requested have been processed.
  • Monitors quality of work throughout the job process


  • Schedules daily workflow by communicating with supervisors and managers of other departments and directing employees accordingly to meet customers expectations
  • Keeps customer work queue updated daily
  • Monitors daily production of all employees
  • Schedules overtime when necessary
  • Ensures adequate parts and supplies are available
  • Removes overs from the floor and directs materials to proper destination


  • Holds training classes and cross trains employees
  • Follows established training plans and completes documentation
  • Keeps employees abreast on USPS mailing regulations

 Record Keeping

  • Checks production records (PSI, Job Cards, Production Sheets) to ensure accuracy
  • Processes all shortage forms and ensures that the correct person is aware of the issue
  • Keeps employees logs or files accurate and up to date.
  • Keeps daily production schedules updated
  • Maintains daily postage inventory transactions
  • Checks employees' time sheets and makes adjustments accordingly


  • Enforces company and department safety rules
  • Ensures shop is neat and orderly to avoid accidents
  • Reports injuries and completes paperwork for all worker compensation injuries
  • Conducts quarterly meetings on safety training


  • Coordinates with maintenance to keep machines in optimal working order
  • Troubleshoots and maintains equipment when necessary

 Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to work under pressure of time constraints.
  • Strong motivational and direction abilities.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods throughout each shift. Along with frequent bending, twisting and pulling.
  • Flexible with scheduled work hours.


Directly supervises 4 - 10 employees in the Labeling Inkjet Department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years print production/letter shop experience; one to three years supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
