Assists in producing, preparing bindery materials according to established quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following prioritized and categorized duties. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Catches and bands all types and sizes of materials coming off folders
  • Assembles boxes and power packs prior to and during running of jobs
  • Reads and follows instructions on bindery jackets
  • Keys job information into PSI system prior to and at the completion of the job
  • Stocks work tables with bands, tape, load tickets, and rubber bands
  • Maintains bindery area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Blows off machines with air hose
  • Blows out air pump filters, oil folders, and sweeps floors as needed
  • Moves materials to proper destination using floor jack or forklift
  • Works overtime and weekends as needed

Quality Control

  • Reads and understands job instructions before starting any job
  • Ensures quality throughout the job
  • Operator responsible for getting job approved by a supervisor or lead operator
  • Keeps waste to a minimum

High school education preferred; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
