Navistar Direct Marketing is looking for the 1st (6 am - 2 pm) and 2nd Shift (2 pm to 10 pm) Inserting Maintenance Mechanics to join our team! - 1st Shift Schedule is Monday through Friday from 6 am - 2 pm
- 2nd Shift Schedule is Monday through Friday from 2 pm - 10 pm
JOB SUMMARY
Qualified candidates are able to maintain and service equipment according to priority, oversee installation and assembly of new machines and equipment, maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery, diagnose and repair machine failure, and install replacement parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*:
MAINTENANCE & SERVICE

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts

Services equipment and other items as assigned
-
Services or replaces defective parts
-
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.

Lubricates and cleans parts.

Keeps an on-going list of miscellaneous maintenance that needs to be done

Sets up and operates equipment and tools to make and repair parts

Uses and reads volt meter, computer, and tape measure

Works overtime and weekends when necessary
QUALITY CONTROL

Activates devices to test their performance

Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements

Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections

Checks and recheck any work before putting the machine back online

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments
SAFETY
-
Checks to ensure that all areas in the plant meet OSHA standards

Knows and follows all safety procedures

Reports work-related injuries to supervisor

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and prior experience in servicing and repairing machines are required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
