Summary

Controls movement of raw paper and envelope stock. Receives materials, locates materials and delivers them to the presses and bindery. Maintains the paper warehouse in an organized, clean and safe manner.

Quality Control

  • Checks to be sure that all receivables are the correct size, color, finish, brand and quantity.
  • Insures that the stock is marked with the PO#, job # or house stock number accordingly. Bindery cartons are marked clearly with size and quantity.
  • Insures that the stock is stored in an organized, safe and consistent manner.
  • Maintains all paperwork in an organized system.
  • Inputs the receivables into the inventory system accurately.
  • Compare packing slips to actual receivables and report discrepancies before delivery drivers depart.

Production

  • Coordinates with production supervisors to insure the presses are receive materials in an efficient manner without down time.
  • Unloads receivables while prioritizing pressroom needs.
  • Organizes material behind the equipment and returns unused stock correctly.
  • Delivers materials and supplies to the bindery as requested expeditiously while working safely.
  • Tracks odd lot material and returns house stocks properly.

Maintenance

  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
  • Sweeps out the warehouse on a regular basis to maintain cleanliness.
  • Notifies maintenance of any safety or maintenance issues on equipment and racks.

Safety

  • Knows and follows all safety procedures
  • Operates all equipment in a safe manner (examples - forklifts, pickers, reachers, roll clamps, power jacks, etc.)
  • Is proactive in regards to Safety and encourages proper safety habits in others
  • Ensures warehouse and equipment are OSHA compliant
  • Reports work related injuries to supervisor
  • Is aware of lock out tag out procedures and is able to follow them.
  • Stores hand jacks safely in skids when not in use
  • Prevents safety hazards IE: skids on edge, trip hazards, spills, etc.
  • Uses seatbelts and safety restraints at all times.
  • Drives at a reasonable speed to look for pedestrians.
  • Stopping and honking before going around corners and blind spots.
  • Driving in reverse when large loads block view in front.
  • Never lifting more than the capacity of the equipment
  • Only lifts two rolls at a time as long as the clamp truck has them completely gripped within the height of the clamp.

Attendance and Over-Time

  • Controls tardiness and the number of unscheduled days off
  • Works over time when needed to satisfy customer demands. Over time may be required because of maintenance needs, scheduled or unexpected repairs, work load, holiday schedules, employee vacations, etc.
  • Able to work OT on your normal shift hours, flex hours, weekends, coming in early or staying late as the necessity calls for.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent. Able to test and be acquire certification on all equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, understand and verify information from packing slips, receipts, invoices and BOLs. Relays issues and information to supervisors and management in verbal and written form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately track a running tally. Ability to measure and read labels and count weights, sheet counts and carton counts.
